Letters to King George

Task: Write a letter or powerpoint to the King of England (King George III) explaining how the results of the French and Indian war has angered the colonists and led to them considering a revolution.


Structure for your letter or PowerPoint:

1) Background of the war - how it started

3) Results of the war - what did British do? why were colonists angry?

    Im writing you this letter to tell you about the war between the French and the Indian. French troops from Canada march south; seize and fortify the ohio valley. They wanted to take over all of the ohio valley for there self. The major event that happen in this war was, The British implement a plan to defeat the French. Moncton successfully captures Fort Beausejour, Major General Edward Braddock troops are defeated in the Battle of the Monongahela, and William Johnson’s troops stop the French advance at Lake George.     This is a letter to inform you on the French and Indian war. During this war many things has happened such as . . . In 1753, the Ohio Valley was seized by French troops from the South. In 1755, the British came up with a plan to defeat the French. Moncton captured Fort Beausejour.Major General Edward Braddock troops are defeated in the Battle of the Monongahela, and William Johnson’s troops stopped the French advance at Lake George. In 1757, the French led by Montcalm captured Fort William Henry. Montcalm’s actions made his Indian allies who captured and killed hundreds of unarmed British. October 7, 1763 : King George III signed the Proclamation of 1763 reserving land west of the Allegheny Mountains for India. Colonists refused to use imported English goods. This eventually lead to the American Revolution .
