On the First page, Zinn says "Everything in the experience of the first white settlers acted as a pressure for the enslavement of blacks." Why were slaves so important to the development of the American Colonies? Why did the colonists turn to the importation of African slaves?

When the women's are pregnant and when they give birth there babies are slaves already...But there was mostly slaves in Africa but then there was working in rich people house's also they was doing farming...

Because the slaves are the people who work their land for free & whit out the slaves the americans colonies would have to work the land them selves. So that is why American colonies started to get african people to do the work with out getting paid.

Slavers were important in the development of the American Colonies because they were working for them and the Americans was investing money on them.

The slaves were important to the Whites colonist, because they worked for the whites free, its mean, that the slaves worked without receive something in return and they can't proclaimed, or else they will die. The colonists turn to the importation African slaves because while more people to work more finish good they had.

Slaves were so important to the development of the American Colonies, because they did all the work, the farming and agriculture stuff, raw materials. And also because the colonists did not have to pay for the work (No money for slavery).

slavery played a big roll during those times and the colonies needed slaves because they needed people to build a community or a society in each colony. i slaves made so many materials and items and even grew crops that right away they have to give up to the soilders

when the first white settlers arrived in the United states, the condition of place was new to them which included the climate, topography and so on.With those harsh situation there was no way the white settlers could do anything. Having a long history of slavery back in europe, they continued it in the United states bringing slaves from different african countries. The slaves were made to do all the everyday works, cotton picking, taking out seeds from cotton and so on. In this way slaves did the most work and the white masters gained huge amount of profit from it.

The reason the white people took advantage of the slaves was because they couldnt fight back and they try to but the white people had to much power.African american had a part of land but the white took the land quickly,once the slaves got out of the boat they had to work for free no breaks.Slaves didnt have a opinion they die instaly because of diaseases the purpose the whites didnt get out of power because they were in power and nobody couldnt bring them down and they had to follow what they said.

ReplyDeleteslavery was needed in america. without it, things wouldn't get done and if things would of gotten done, it would of took about 3 or 4 times as long. yes the americans took the slaves from africa but they had to do what they did so we can have what we have today. one really messed up thing that they did was sell people as items.. what jerks right?!
